News: Molyneux Describes 'Similar' Move & Wii

Sony's new Move motion-controls are 'hard to differentiate' from the Wii, says games designer Peter Molyneux!
Despite fervent postulation to the contrary, Sony's attempt at motion controls is seemingly identical to Nintendo's Wii, according to Microsoft Games Studio's Creative Director Peter Molyneux in an interview with UGO.
"I find it hard in my mind to differentiate between the Sony Move and the Wii. They seem very similar in their scope. I know Sony and Nintendo would argue that they are different, but they kind of seem the same. They enable certain sorts of experiences, and they are analogous to Kinect."
Molyneux's comments will no doubt be little comfort to Sony, whose Move controller debuted at E3 earlier this month. "This is not me talking as a Microsoft employee, this is me talking as a designer," Molyneux concluded. News that Microsoft and Sony's efforts are 'analogous' to Nintendo's ageing tech cuts through a lot of company hype to the contrary.
