Capcom announces its 3DS killer app is well on target in Japan...

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 3 G has already shipped one million copies in Japan.

The 3DS exclusive launched on December 10th, and sold a reported 520,000 copies in its first week on sale, among widespread stories of super-fast sell-outs. The news of the milestone shipment might be enough to take the game past Christmas without the need for new stock, but it's any one's guess as to where the end sales figure might lie for the game.

Capcom previously announced that it targets 1.2 million copies shipped in Japan by the end of March, so the game seems well on target to meet expectations. However, second week sales will be crucial, so stay tuned as they're due to come in later today.

Both Monster Hunter 3 G and the already-announced Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS are currently without confirmed western releases.
