News: More Hanabi Festival Titles For VC

Continuing the current festival of previously unreleased titles for Europe, now available are Cho Aniki, Puyo Puyo 2, Break In as well as Metal Slug!

Adding to last week's Hanabi Festival releases are four more classic titles for the Virtual Console service.

First up is Turbografx title Cho Aniki (meaning 'Muscle Brothers'), a quirky Japanese side-scrolling shooter that pits a flying hero or heroine against an onslaught of unusual enemies, assisted by the musclebound siblings Samson and Adon, who would go on to star in their own sequels. The game is available now for 900 Wii Points.

Next up from the Megadrive is Puyo Pop 2. The quintessential head-to-head puzzle game from Japan, the title pits you against a human or computer opponent as you arrange falling 'Puyo' into like-coloured chains, to send filler blocks to scupper your rival before they do the same to you! It is available now for 900 Wii Points.

Also available is Turbografx title Break In, for which the makers of pinball classics Alien Crush and Devil's Crush turn their hands to billiards. In the story-driven Simulation mode, play your way out of trouble when you stow aboard a cruise liner. In Action mode, hone your skills against the computer or up to three friends, and try some trick shots in Technique mode. This classic can now be yours for 700 Wii Points.

Finally, a non-Hanabi Festival title, but popular all the same. The Neogeo title that rounds out the releases this week is the all-time run 'n' gun favourite Metal Slug! Battle through waves of comical enemy troops, on foot or behind the wheel of the titular tank, rescuing POWs as you go. Heavy on laughs and on action, the game offers the ultimate arcade-style experience.

We're expecting more Hanabi Festival next week, but in the meantime, full reviews of these titles are on their way in the next issue of VC Weekly, written by our resident Virtual Console guru Sam Gittins.
