SNK will be porting over more games in its popular Metal Slug series to the GBA.

At TGS this past week, publisher SNK revealed their intentions to bring more games in their fan-favorite action series Metal Slug to the GBA. On the heels of the excellent Metal Slug Advance, SNK had prior to this announcement already began efforts to port the original Metal Slug. This announcement now adds Metal Slugs 2,3 and X to the fold. No release dates were yet given.

Looks like portable fans, particularly fans of action-shooters, still have some incentive to keep their GBAs in their pockets. With the GBA Micro due later this year, DS backwards compatibility, and now announcements such as Final Fantasy 4 and this it seems the GBA will enjoy a renewed wave of interest even as its competitors gain steam.
