News: More Triforce details

Some new details were revealed today concerning the new graphics board developed by Nintendo, Sega and Namco, better known as Triforce.

Apparently the Triforce can connect to any kind of media, which allow developers more freedom. A Triforce game could use a GameCube minidisc, or a Dreamcast GD-ROM, or a proprietary device from the development studio itself. This was assumed even before the board's debut, but now it's official.

Also revealed today was the board's RAM -- 48MBs of 1T-SRAM, to be exact. Twice the amount that the GameCube has, the additional memory will grant developers more power for all aspects of gameplay, including graphics.
