News: More Wii Surprises to Come

The Wii should not be written off too soon according to Nintendo.

As the gaming industry eagerly awaits the unveiling of Nintendo's successor to the Wii Nintendo insist there is still plenty more in store. Speaking to MCV Nintendo UK's marketing manager has stated that there are still some surprises to come.

Mr. Lowe notes that Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is due to launch later in the year and Wii Play: Motion is set for release next month. While the Wii's schedule may seem pretty thin on the ground at the moment he states, "there are plenty more surprises in store for 2012 from us Wii has got a great future ahead of it".

It would appear that E3 won't solely be dedicated to the 3DS and Wii successor. In the past Sony has successfully released a new console that doesn't result in the previous console dying out but only time will tell if this is Nintendo's plan too.
