Mother 3 now has a release date...well, in Japan anyway.

At long last for fans of the series, Mother 3 has its release date. According to series creator Shigesato Itoi's Hobonichi site, the game will be touching down for the GBA on April 20th this year. An entry on the site simply declares that "an April 20th 2006 release date has been decided on" and that "the decision places it capably right before Golden Week".

Nintendo's Mother series, though popular in Japan, is considered far more "cult" outside of it with only the SNES title (the second in the series) making it to Western shores. The series can be summed up as such: a traditionally-styled Japanese RPG with extremely liberal helpings of "Strange" and 'Weird" (though humourously and charmingly so) mixed in. Mother 3 has yet to recieve a target release outside of Japan however, so keep your fingers crossed, RPG fans.
