News: MotionPlus Took Developers By Surprise

Several third-party Wii developers are feeling 'annoyed' and 'betrayed' following Nintendo's surprise MotionPlus announcement at E3.
Here at N-Europe, we were pleasantly surprised by the revelation of Wii MotionPlus, a Wii Remote attachment which greatly enhances the Remote's motion sensing abilities. All of the many possibilities we dreamed of when the Remote was first unveiled were now made possible... Imagine our disappointment when just one game was shown to utilise the new hardware at E3.
Not to worry, surely Nintendo thought to inform their loyal third-party studios of the new game-enhancing peripheral? According to Game Informer, this wasn't the case, as many third-party developers only found out about the device upon its revelation at E3. Nintendo reportedly offered no advance knowledge of MotionPlus or how to implement it into their projects.
Wii MotionPlus is expected to launch as a stand-alone peripheral and bundled with Wii Sports Resort in Spring 2009. Make sure you post your thoughts on this news in the comments below...
