Nintendo are to preview their new machine at E3 2005!
In a move which will surprise few, Nintendo casually let slip at the end of their financial report for 2003/2004 that their new console -dubbed N5 by top chronological experts, will be unveiled at E3 2005.
No further details have been made available by Nintendo on the subject of the new machine, no code names or specifications have been leaked as yet.
Debuting the new console at next year's E3 is a bold step for Nintendo and suggests at perhaps a far more aggressive attitude to the console market as company president Satoru Iwata sweeps away the cobwebs left over from Yamauchi-san.
Bold indeed: this year saw Nintendo unveiling the new Dual Screen portable gaming system in an exciting presentation, and although Nintendo insiders are still denying claims that this is not going to be a rival for the Sony PSP, few will doubt the aggressive spoiling tactics employed by the company in their dynamic and invigorating presentation.
Furthermore, both Sony and Microsoft have expressed the intention to show off their new hardware at next year's E3, leading up to what will no doubt be a head to head battle on the show floor for attention from crowds hungry to experience the new hardware. Again, a very aggressive move by Nintendo.
We'll be here, watching and waiting for all the news as it happens.
