News: Namco Buys Peanuts

Namco have interactive entertainment publishing rights to "Peanuts." Let's all do the Snoopy Dance to celebrate!
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, Linus and Pigpen will all be appearing on current and upcoming consoles until 2009 thanks to Namco, who have signed a deal with United Media.
"'Peanuts' is one of the most celebrated comic strips of all time, and Charlie Brown and his friends have firmly cemented their place as American icons of the highest order," said Jeff Lujan, Business Director at Namco Hometek, Inc. "We relish this opportunity to continue these beloved characters' storylines through the medium of games and are honored to introduce this cherished property to an all-new generation of gamers."
For those who enjoy random facts, did you know that while "Peanuts" started in just seven newspapers in 1950 it has gone on to appear in 2400 newspapers in 75 countries and 21 languages worldwide. Of course the series was created by Charles M. Schulz and has become such a part of popular culture that everyone knows about Charlie Brown and co.
