Looks like yet another game in the JRPG series is in development for Nintendo's dual-screen wonder.

Despite the mild reception the original game received, the Blue Dragon series is certainly one that developer Mistwalker is eager to push. With an anime already on Japanese teleboxes and one DS strategy game going by the name of Blue Dragon Plus prepping itself for a US release, another title has been unveiled for Nintendo DS.

Blue Dragon: Colossal Beast of the Underworld sees series pioneers Hironobu Sakaguchi, Akira Toriyama and Hideo Baba reunite to work on the game. The RPG will be presented in full 3D, and giving the player the ability to customise the main character's face.

The DS game is currently planned for a 2009 release in Japan.
