News: New Call of Duty: Black Ops Info

The Senior Producer of Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Wii has recently revealed some new information about the title.

Anna Donlon, Senior Producer of the Wii version of Call of Duty: Black Ops, has recently been interviewed about the title and has revealed some new information about the game's development, multiplayer and control systems.

Speaking on the official Call of Duty website Ms. Donlon outlines her history with the popular series. She joined Treyarch in 2005 and her first Call of Duty title was Modern Warfare: Reflex and has worked on the series since.

Ms. Donlon speaks highly about the studio's commitment to providing a fully developed unique experience and trying to do the fans justice by constantly trying to improve on their previous project.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to feature the full single-player storyline mode available on the other consoles. In addition to this the game will feature 5 vs. 5 multiplayer mode and all the maps and game modes including the new Wager Matches and Contracts modes.

To make the game even more tantalising Treyarch are set to include online Co-Op through Black Op's new Combat Training mode. Additionally the 4-player Co-Op Zombies mode will debut for the Wii on Black Op's.

In an attempt to solve the in-studio issue of having to shout down the hallway to each other the team decided to introduce headset support and will be offering the Headbanger Headset with the game to provide a more in-depth online experience for Wii gamers. Online Wii gaming is often hampered by friend codes but Treyarch promises players will be able to send game invites and the ability to invite recent players to be your allies and use text messaging without the need to exchange codes.

As well as all this Treyarch have introduced Classic Controller Pro support so gamers can chose to use either that method or the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Ms. Donlon also promises a lot more new features will be available in the game and quotes Matt Kimberling, the game's Technical Director, when she claims "the Wii players are gonna freakin’ love this!" With Call of Duty: Black Ops available in just a few weeks we'll see if they are correct.
