A new game based on the Lords of Shadow sub-series is heading for Nintendo's handheld.
A surprise pre-E3 announcement - Konami has lifted the lid on a brand new Castlevania game for 3DS.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (likely doomed to be abbreviated as Castlevania: Mirror of Fate) got a full reveal in the latest issue of Nintendo Power (via GoNintendo). The game features Trevor Belmont, is spun-off from the Kojima-inflected 2010 action romp Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and will tie in some way with the forthcoming console sequel.
Lords of Shadow 2 itself may or may not be getting revealed at E3, and may have been or may not have been tipped to be heading to Wii U.
Mirror of Fate eschews the 'Igavania' straight-2D style we're used to with handheld entries, instead opting for a '2.5D' angle. To fit in with its console brothers, the game is much more action-packed, featuring deep combat mechanics.
Some quick and dirty scans of the game can be viewed over at GoNintendo. Expect to hear more about the game around E3.
