After too many months of "Will it? Won't it?", SEGA confirm voice chat and Wii MotionPlus for The Conduit.
Still riding high on the hype wave, The Conduit's newly aquired publisher has been flexing its PR muscles concerning the game.
Sifting through the generic description of the game, Sega's press release confirmed that High Voltage Software's Wii shooter will utilise both Wii MotionPlus for better control and Wii Speak for the game's 16 player online mode. Both are features that have been rumoured, but never before confirmed:
Powered by High Voltage Software's groundbreaking Quantum 3 engine, The Conduit ensures that players will experience single and multiplayer gameplay with graphical fidelity never seen before on the Wii. The Conduit will also support the recently announced Wii Speak peripheral, allowing online multiplayer gamers the ability to chat as they destroy aliens in each terrifying level. Additionally, the game will take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus for optimal control.
The statement finishes by reiterating plans to release The Conduit in Spring. It is not yet known the arrangement for whom you can chat with, or what kind of mechanics will make use of MotionPlus.
With a rumoured marketing blitzkrieg also imminent, it looks like Sega aren't going to hold back any time soon with The Conduit. Too right, we say.
