News: New EA Hierarchy

EA has organised itself into four new divisions.
EA Games, notorious for creating effortless ports and movie tie-ins for years, are dividing their company into four different sectors, each of which will be focusing on a certain type of game developed by the publishing giant. The new groups are EA Sports, EA Games, EA Casual Entertainment and The Sims.
Frank Gibeau will become the president of the EA Games sector, handling the Battlefield, Need For Speed, Command and Conquer and Medal of Honour franchises (most of which are coming to the Wii and/or DS in the near future). It's most likely that EA Games are handling the big franchises, including movie tie-ins or new installments in the franchises mentioned above.
Executive Vice President Joel Linzner will be temporarily in charge of the EA Sports unit until a permanent president can be found. This unit will be handling (you guessed it) EA's sport franchises including FIFA, Madden, Tiger Woods and NASCAR.
EA Casual Entertainment will be headed by the former head of publishing for Activision, Kathy Vrabeck. This division will be covering games such as Harry Potter and Boogie as well as mobile phone and Internet games. This should perhaps be of the most interest to Nintendo fans, because as many will already know, Ninty has really been pushing casual games and targetting the casual audience lately.
And finally, I bet you can't guess what games 'The Sims' are covering. Headed by Nancy Smith, this division are 100% likely to be bringing My Sims to your favourite waggly and touchy-feely consoles later on this year.
This corporate reorganisation can only mean good things for fans of EA's games. Stay tuned to N-Europe for more on EA and their many games.
