Tales of Symphonia:Dawn of the New World

News: New Features For Western Tales

Namco announce brand new goodies to be made available for western Symphonia fans.

Launched earler this year in Japan to much hoo-rah, Namco are burrowing away on Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World in preparation for its North American release. After ousting the 360's AAA Tales of Vesperia in the series' homeland, the Japanese giant is giving western Symphonia loyalists a special treat, by using localisation time to add all new features.

First up, Namco are adding in even more motion-controlled functionalities to the combat system. Whereas the original featured 4 seperate remote-waving attacks, the western iteration will have that number doubled to eight. Hopefully this will make the experience even more immersive, and not just make the affair seem like a waggle-fest.

Secondly (and this is getting us very excited), the game will bestow generous rewards upon those who have cleared save files of the first Gamecube title. For these players, Dawn of the New World will randomly gift your character with money, items and other bonuses at the start of the game. If you haven't finished Symphonia, it looks like it's time to dust off that old Wavebird!

There's still no word on a European release for Dawn of the New World, but rest assured, we'll be keeping our ears firmly close to the ground.
