Long before FarmVille there was Harvest Moon, which is set to return to the DS this winter with Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming.

The farming-simulation Harvest Moon series has been around since 1996 when it debuted on the SNES. Since then it has appeared on all Nintendo consoles and while it has already had several releases on the DS, 2007's Harvest Moon DS, its girl-friendly counterpart Harvest Moon DS Cute and 2008's Harvest Moon DS: Island of Happiness, it is set to return to the Nintendo DS in Europe this winter with Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming.

Once again Rising Star games are bringing the series over to Europe, although this time Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming introduces a new puzzle element to the series. In the game each crop is represented by different colours and icons and players must manage the crops as quick as possible otherwise they will take over the farm.

Players will be able to chose from one of twelve characters across the numerous modes such as Story Mode, Mission Mode and Score Attack Mode. Expect more details soon but for now check out the screenshot gallery for screens from the game and character art.
