A recent Activision earnings conference brings more tidbits. Next up for DS, Tony Hawk!

With Activision having owned the electronic skateboarding market for years, last year saw EA ollie into the park with Skate and Tony Hawk was suddenly showing his age.

Obviously caught short, Activision have announced that they will seriously "re-imagine" the next Hawk title - from the ground up. And so (suprisingly) the next pro skater title will launch first, in 2008 on the DS!

Unfortunately Activision gave no further information about the title, other than saying it would be independent from the 2009 home console versions and "this won't be your father's Tony Hawk." (Echoing Reggie's Mario Kart statements at E3'07.) Futhermore, Activision bullishly stated that the title would "utilize new technology not yet seen on the DS."

Activision gave no indication as to whether this "new technology" for the DS would be seen under the hood or manifest as a new peripheral similar to that used for Guitar Hero: On Tour.
