News: New Look NOM Hits Shelves Next Week

Exclusive DS Lite info and a Revolution hands-on will feature in the the first new-look Nintendo Official Magazine, launching February 16th.

Issue one (yep, it appears they're re-starting the numbering) is less than a week away. The first issue will take a look at how Nintendo is revolutionising the way we play games, with features on the 30% smaller DS Lite and the upcoming Revolution.

Designed with a fresh contemporary look and feel and apparently offering premium production values, the all-new Official Nintendo Magazine promises to appeal to a broader range of Nintendo gamers. The magazine will provide something for everyone, from long-term hardcore fans, through to those who have recently picked up a Nintendo console for the very first time.

Driving Future's vision for Official Nintendo Magazine is company veteran, Group Senior Editor Steve Jarratt, who was launch editor for respected games title, Edge. The magazine will be edited by Lee Nutter, formerly of PSW. Also on the mag's team will be Associate Editor Chandra Nair (formerly of CUBE magazine), Magaret Robertson and old-school NGC boys Jes Bickham, Mark Green and Tim Weaver.

Additionally, an all-new NOM website is on the way, enabling fans to react and discuss the latest news from Nintendo as it happens. It will be headed up by Tom East, who was a former editor of NGC (which Future also publishes, interestingly enough).

Also in issue one - an exclusive interview with Capcom on Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Megaman, Street Fighter and their plans for Revolution. Games currently on their way to the Revolution are detailed, along with how the company is planning to use the controller. There's also a preview of Twilight Princess and free vinyl decals which you can use to personalise your DS.

Issue one of Official Nintendo Magazine goes on sale Thursday, 16th February, with a coverprice of 3.99.
