Nintendo is opening a new Pokémon Centre in the Tohoku region of Japan, which was badly affected by the March 11th disaster.

The seventh Pokémon Centre, Nintendo's Pokémon-themed retail store, is set to open in Sendai City this winter. Sendai was badly affected by the earthquake and tsunami on March 11th and Nintendo hope that the store will help children in the area.

Famitsu report (courtesy of Anime News Network) that the store will be located within the Aer skyscraped in Sendai, the largest skyscraper in the Tohoku region. Nintendo hopes that the store will be a place for children to come together and rebuild their lives following the disaster. The store will be part of the 'Pokémon With You' initiative and will include events such as giving away Pokémon merchandise, raising funds and allow children to come together and smile.
