Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon DS

News: New Spyro Title Hitting Wii & DS

The Legend of Spyro trilogy reaches its conclusion with the announcement of Dawn of the Dragon for the Wii and DS.

Spyro the Dragon has been around for an age, starting out life on the PlayStation and spawning titles on many platforms since (including the GameCube, GBA, DS and Wii). Spyro fans will be pleased to know that Sierra Entertainment have just announced a new installment in the series, entitled The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.

Tying up the Legend of Spyro trilogy, Dawn of the Dragon sees players fighting to unlock the true potential within Spyro as he battles to save the world from the evil Dark Master (voiced by Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker).

For a third-party DS title, Dawn of the Dragon is looking pretty damn snazzy.

New features in Dawn of the Dragon include a new ability for the purple dragon himself, which allows him to fly at any given time (so expect some nice pointer-controlled flight sections). Co-op is also included, allowing a second player to drop into the action and play as Spyro's enemy-turned-ally Cynder the Dragon.

Spyro's new free-flying ability should add a whole new level of depth to the series.

The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is scheduled for a Wii and DS release on October 7th in North America.
