The cult Konami RPG makes its way to DS.Famitsu revealed that the recently trademarked Genso Suikoden Tierkreis will be for the DS, which comes as a surprise to many, considering the series takes residence mostly in Sony's consoles.

Genso Suikoden Tierkreis will be a traditional RPG with fast paced battles controlled by tapping icons on the touch screen and viewing stats on the top sceen. The game features 2D backgrounds and 3d characters complete with a fully animated intro and voice acting (to what extent we don't know though). According to the magazine, development is halfway through.

Story wise, the article headline reads "The Chosen 108 heroes have been destroyed?!" and according to translations roaming the web, the player and his party has to reassemble the aforementioned 108 heroes loosely inspired by characters from the chinese novel Shui Hu Zhuan.
