Satoru Iwata confirms another key Mario title for 3DS...

Speaking to investors, Satoru Iwata confirmed a new 2D Mario title for the 3DS handheld.

While the Nintendo president didn't even have so much of a logo to tease, he promised the title is "totally new", and would be a side-scrolling game. It will launch some time in the next fiscal year (between April 2012 and March 2013).

The news comes after it was revealed Super Mario 3D Land has sold over five million copies worldwide since November.
