The new, family-oriented Wii bundle could go for under 80 over the Christmas period...
As Nintendo of Europe prepares to release its slightly revised Wii console later this year, UK retailers are pondering over where to price the model. According to MCV, leading UK chains are "prepared" to sell the new bundle for as little as 79.99.
The 'new' Wii model has been dubbed the 'Family Edition'; it removes Gamecube backwards-compatibility and controller support, and is designed to sit horizontally only. The console will come bundled with Wii Sports and Wii Party.
While the new bundle sports the same trade price, retailers are reportedly looking to slash the price to this low level, even only temporarily, in order to boost sales over the Christmas period.
Nintendo is expected to make the bundle available towards the end of the year.
