News: New Wii Pokémon Title Announced

Nintendo confirms Japan will be seeing the release of PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure this Christmas...

As many Pokéfans continue to await a fully-fledged home-console adventure, Nintendo continue their trend of light-hearted spin-offs of the series. Today, the company officially announced PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure, due to hit Japanese retailers on December 5th.

In PokéPark Wii, players take on the role of the titular 'mon as he roams loose around a Poké-themed amusement park. The task of the game is to befriend visiting Pokémon in order to experience the park's main attractions.

To achieve the goal of befriending Pokémon, the player must take up a number of varied mini-games. Some of these challenges include quizes, battles and games of tag. Outside the main game, you can take pictures of Pokémon around the park (Snap, anyone?) and save them to an SD card.

We'll bring you more info on PokéPark Wii (as well as hopefully a western confirmation) as we get it.
