Today Nintendo announced that its GameCube price drop to € 99 has been very well received in Europe. Last week more than ten times as many Cubes were sold in Europe as compared to the week before.

Two weeks ago, when the price drop went into effect in the UK (a week before the rest of Europe), Nintendo reported a 400% increase in hardware sales in the UK. This meant 4.000 GameCube consoles were sold that week. Now with the 1000% increase in Cube sales, Nintendo sold approximately 10.000 Cubes in the UK this week!

The expectation by Nintendo of Germany that hardware sales would increase tenfold seems to have been right on the money. In Germany, weekly sales have risen from 1.500 to 15.000 GameCube consoles!
