News: Ninja Gaiden 3 Set for Wii U Launch

Tecmo's Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden 3 is still on track to launch alongside Wii U...

Japanese publisher Tecmo Koei has re-affirmed plans to release a Wii U version of next year's Ninja Gaiden 3 alongside the new system's launch.

The company made note of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge - the version tailor-made for Nintendo's new system - in its earnings report.

Little is known about how much the Wii U iteration will differ from the standard HD game, but Team Ninja director Yosuke Hayashi spoke earlier in the year about a possible optional control scheme for Razor's Edge designed to mirror the touch-controls of the 2008 DS title Dragon Sword.

The publisher also revealed that its well-received 3DS fighter Dead or Alive: Dimensions has sold 310,000 units worldwide. The company deems that the game has "performed well".

Tecmo Koei also outlined its global business plan moving forwards, with handhelds like 3DS and Sony's Vita taking precedence in Japan, HD consoles leading the strategy worldwide, while it also hopes to grow its PC and smartphone presence.
