Nintendo are aiming this generation to once again become the market leader, says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime.
Nintendo of America's President Reggie Fils-Aime's aim for this console generation is for Nintendo to become the clear leader of the market. With the largely highly positive press reaction to the console so far, he says the company is highly hopeful.
"We certainly want to, and between the success we've had with the Nintendo DS in the handheld space and the success we see with the Wii, Nintendo can become the dominant player again in this industry. And certainly that's my focus."
But he also said that this didn't mean that Sony and Microsoft wouldn't do well either. "In order for me to win, must they fail? I don't think so. Because they're trying to do something very different. But our goal is to be the leader in this industry -- not only from an innovation standpoint, but also from a market share as well."
