Nintendo is looking to encourage more British people to create art by showcasing Art Academy around the country.

Today saw the beginning of Nintendo UK's plan to get Britain to be more creative. The 'Create Britain' campaign is designed to encourage people to engage with and create art more and they are using Art Academy as an example.

The tour kicked off this morning at London's Southbank and we were in attendance so expect a full report tomorrow. Over the next month the tour will visit six different locations and give members of the public the chance to try out Art Academy and flex their creative muscles. The full tour details are as follows:

• Brent Cross Shopping Centre - North London - May 19th-22nd
• St. Davids - Cardiff - May 26th - 29th
• MetroCentre - Gateshead, Newcastle - June 2nd - 5th
• Bullring - Birmingham - June 9th - 15th
• Arndale Centre - Manchester - June 16th - 19th
• Braehead - Scotland - June 23rd - 26th

Only 16% of people in the UK have created a piece of art in the past six months.

Whereas 54% of people can't recall when or have never created a piece of art.

The main reason for not creating art is that 40% of people in the UK believe they don't have the skills.

A lot of people also believe that they don't have the time to create art (27%).
