Wiimotes at the ready, the Nintendo Channel will be available to download from midnight tonight!

It's pretty much the Channel you've all been waiting for. Bringing with it videos and details of all games released on Nintendo's platforms, a handy release schedule, and more, the Nintendo Channel features enough content to keep even the most rabid of Nintendo fans happy.

Better still, the Channel's most anticipated feature is the ability to download demos of upcoming DS titles, which can be streamed to play on your DS until the power is turned off.

We'll be updating here to let you know as soon as it goes live!

Update 2.30am: And, it's up! A bit later than planned, but nevertheless, the Channel is now available to download for free from the Wii Shop Channel right now. You can currently find an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto about Wii Fit, and plenty of other promotional gumph for Nintendo titles. The DS demos currently available to download include:
