News: Nintendo Crowned Best Company In World!

As if you didn't know it already, BusinessWeek has named Ninty as the world's best company!

While its fans will show no surprise, its pleasing to see Nintendo named as the top company in the world in BusinessWeek's annual list of the world's best corporations - judged on their vision of the future, aggressive expansion, strong leadership, commitment to innovation and diversified portfolios.

Specifically, Nintendo has seen a 36% annual increase in sales over the past five years, driven by the phenomenal success of the Wii, DS and new DSi consoles. Second place was awarded to search giant Google, while iPod gurus Apple got third. Sony and Microsoft missed out on the list completely.

In a separate poll of the most innovative companies - which Apple won - Microsoft fared better, gaining a place in fourth, ahead of Nintendo in fifth (up two from last year), and way ahead of Sony in fourteenth. The publication also listed what they consider to be the 50 most innovative companies in the world, with Nintendo taking the No. 5 spot behind Microsoft at No. 4.
