News: Nintendo Dominates Golden Week

Wii and 3DS accounts for almost the entire top 10 in the latest Japanese charts...

The latest Media Create charts are out, and this week represents something of a bumper one for sales. It was Golden Week - the name given to the succession of public holidays at the start of May - and as such there were a few big winners as more people flocked to the stores.

As is almost tradition, it was Nintendo who benefited most, with 3DS and Wii dominating the sharp end of the chart. After making a debut at number two, Mario Party 9 has a sterling second week to claim the top spot.

Fire Emblem: Awakening on 3DS banks another hefty figure, but continued stock constraints is likely hampering its performance. Kid Icarus: Uprising just won't drop out of the top 10, continuing to settle among the holy trinity of Mario Kart, Super Mario and Monster Hunter, which all enjoy a bump in sales.

Here's the full software chart for April 30th to May 6th.
