News: Nintendo Downloads This Week

Europe gets Shanghai II: Dragon Eye and a raft of other WiiWare & DSiWare, though there's no sign of Super Mario Kart just yet...

Well, we were right about Shanghai II: Dragon Eye releasing today, although Nintendo seem to have released it independently of another Hanabi Festival. Also disappointing is the lack of Super Mario Kart, which recent listings suggested was finally on its way this Friday. We have our fingers crossed for next week instead.

There's still plenty of other titles on offer this week. On the Virtual Console, Shanghai II: Dragon's Eye is available for 800 Points - originally released on the Mega Drive, its a Mahjong solitaire style title.

On WiiWare, Ubisoft are releasing Rabbids Lab, a cute piece of software that lets you customise a Rabbid who lives in your on-screen Wii-mote. You can then shake him around inside for humorous results. If only we could use them instead of Miis! It's available for 500 Points.

Also on WiiWare, Copter Crisis sees you controlling a helicopter along canyons, avoiding falling obstacles, battling severe weather conditions and anti-aircraft fire as part of an elite rescue squadron. Fun arcade gaming for just 500 Points.

Rounding off the WiiWare releases this week is a version of Solitaire featuring 18 different variations, and Dragon Master Spell Caster from Stickmen Studios, where you ride dragons and engage in battles with others. Both cost 500 Points.

On DSiWare this week is the much-anticipated Mighty Flip Champs from WayForward, which is a platformer with a unique twist. To complete each level you must flip the screens around to progress through them - with up to six per level to make your way through. Ingenious stuff, well worth the 800 Point price-tag.

Last but not least, on DSiWare comes Reflect Missile, from Q Games (developers of the ArtStyle series). It's a strategic game where you must deploy missiles around the screen to take out enemies strategically. It also retails for 500 Points.
