French magazine "Les Echos" has published sales figures for all the home and handheld consoles sold last month in France, with Nintendo easily winning the top two positions. Leading the way was the DS Lite, which sold 260,000 units. The Wii came second with a healthy 144,000 consoles sold.

Third place fell to the PS2, with 92,000 units sold, just beating Sony's handheld PSP which clocked up 90,000 units. Sony secured fifth place as well with the newly released PS3 which totalled 81,000 consoles. The Xbox 360 came sixth with 43,000.

With Nintendo taking the lead in England and France, we'll try and publish sales figures from other European countries soon.
