News: Nintendo DS Booming in Japan!

Japanese retailers are reporting big DS preorders!
GameSpot reported this week that the Nintendo DS is the third best-selling video game console for the week of October 11-17. The machine isn't out until December 2 in Japan, but electronics retailers are including preorders for the system in their sales calculations. The sales numbers that have been published for that week are as follows:
1. GBASP 35,280
2. PS2 22,470
3. Nintendo DS
4. PS2 Redesign
5. GC 4,368
6. GBA 633
7. Xbox 173
The Game Boy Advance SP took the first place in the charts. The standard PlayStation 2 hardware was ranked at second place, and fourth place was taken by preorders for the upcoming redesigned version of the PS2. The Nintendo GameCube came in at fifth place.
