News: Nintendo DS Sells 1 Million in Europe

One million DS units have been sold in Europe; which equates to two million screens and a lot of touching.
The Nintendo DS launched in Europe on March 11th, 2005 and after a tremendous first week, selling 500,000 units, one million Nintendo DS units have been sold under three months.
Jim Merrick, Senior Director, European Marketing, Nintendo of Europe said: ‘The European launch of Nintendo DS has been a massive success with sales shattering all previous records in the opening weekend and remaining consistently strong. This product reflects Nintendo’s dedication to innovation and the advancement of gaming, providing novel and exciting new ways to play games. European consumers have adopted Nintendo’s sense of fun and innovation to give fantastic support to the Nintendo DS.’
It looks as if the Nintendo DS will continue to do well, due to an spectacular upcoming line-up. With titles such as Nintendogs, Mario Kart DS and Advance Wars: Dual Strike from Nintendo, and a whole host of third-party titles.
