News: Nintendo Europe Permanently Close Forums

Nintendo Europe close their official forums for good. Details inside.
The European Nintendo site has today announced that their community forum section of the site is to close with immediate effect. The site initially mentions "security issues in the past", though the suggestion is made that "other online Nintendo communities have surfaced" - ie. fan sites with forums, and ones which are "looked after by people who are able to focus all their resources in one area".
Nintendo, it seems, now wants to focus solely on developing the long-awaited and much-needed over-haul of their site - on which gamers may finally get to exchange their hard-earned Stars for Wii Points. This move comes a week after Nintendo of America closed their official forums as well.
It's always difficult for an official company site to allow discussion forums. By nature, discussions contain both positive comments and criticism, and we at N-Europe are pleased Nintendo of Europe kept them going for this long.
For all our readers who were a member of the official site's forums and are now missing their daily Nintendo discussion... check out the N-Europe's equivalent instead - Europe's biggest Nintendo-dedicated chat forum on the web. You can find them here!
