News: Nintendo Games Up For Edinburgh Award

This year is the third Edinburgh games festival, make your voice heard by voting in Edge magazine's annual award!

A big part of the Edinburgh games festival, which runs this year from August 10-14, is the Edge Award, where a jury of people from the industry look over a shortlist of titles and pick out the game that they think has most reshaped the expectations of what games are capable of.

But while the games industry guys decide what they think is worthy of the award, the People's Choice accolade gives the public the oppurtunity to make their voice heard. Drawn from the same shortlist as the Edge Award, it is voted upon by Edge readers and the general public.

The shortlist for the two awards is as follows:

  • Daigasso! Band Brothers
  • Darwinia
  • Donkey Konga: Jungle Beat
  • God Of War
  • Half-Life 2
  • Lego Star Wars
  • Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Rome: Total War
  • Yoshi's Touch & Go

So now you've checked out the list, if you feel like voting, this page at Edge-Online is the place to do so. Voting is set to close on Sunday August 21st!
