Wrist straps aren't enough. Nintendo have now announced an official Wii Remote cover - the Wii Remote Jacket.

The main thing that makes this better than all the other, 3rd party, Wii Remote covers is the cost. It's free. It will be packaged in future Wii consoles, Wii Remotes and Wii Play packages. For those who bought the Wii before the Wii Remote Jacket is introduced can head here (UK/Ireland)* to get up to four free Wii Remote Jackets (shipping is completely free, too).

The cover is easy to grip and has a cushioning bulge around the front of the Wii Remote - presumably to soften the blow in case you hit someone else in the head. Wii Remote Jackets will begin shipping in mid-October.
