News: Nintendo Not Blocking Wii Speak Trade-Ins

Nintendo announces they will not be blocking Wii Speak users without a retail-bought copy.
Fans were understandably confused when Nintendo previously revealed that consumers purchasing the new Wii Speak peripheral would have to redeem a unique code in each box, limiting the use of the downloadable Wii Speak Channel.
Each Wii Speak package is set to contain a Wii Download Ticket number which was previously set to be unique to each user and non-replaceable if lost. Thankfully, Nintendo seems to have come to its senses and has clarified its new policy:
"Any consumer who may have misplaced their Wii Download Ticket number for the Wii Speak Channel or require a new number following a Wii exchange may contact their local Nintendo Customer Services department, where they can request a replacement Wii Download Ticket number."
"Wii exchange" being corporate speak for second hand sales of the title. So there we have it folks, feel free to merrily buy Wii Speak on its own or bundled with the new Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City - both of which are out tomorrow.
