You probably have all read our story about that the GameCube would support Video-CD's! If not here is a small summary:

We were being told by the PR-Manager of Nintendo France that the GameCube would support VCD playback. We of course thought this was big news... so we posted! Shortly after our post Nintendo of Europe contacted us to say that we have been mislead.

Now we have the exclusive official statement from Nintendo of Japan! Check it out:

"NINTENDO GAMECUBE is optimized for video game play and is designed
to run NINTENDO GAMECUBE's custom 8cm optical disc alone. It does
not support video CD nor music CD."

There you have it. If we cannot trust a Nintendo PR-Manager, who can we trust?
