Nintendo of Europe are apparently all set to announce a final release date and price for the Nintendo DS in January, while on the other side of the pond Nintendo of America are gearing up for a March announcement.

According to MCV Nintendo of Europe are on track as far as the Nintendo DS launch is concerned. David Yarnton, head of the UK branch of Nintendo, spoke about the Nintendo DS launch to the press yesterday.

"I'm not going to disclose the two points you're all desperate to know � The UK price and release date," he continued. "I can however, confirm that we are on track for our Q1 release. The DS will launch with a host of great titles and most importantly we will have a competitive price,"

"We'll be communicating release plans in some major way in early January", said Yarnton, who also confirmed that the release for the delayed information was due to competition with Sony.

Meanwhile according to Spong Nintendo of America plan to release some big information in March. That is all the delightfully ambiguous article said.
