This time round it will be Nintendo themselves rather than Namco who'll publish the game in Japan... and the US too?

IGN have stated that according to "sources close to Namco" the RPG sequel that's actually a prequel will reach the US later this year after the Japanese get the game next month. Nintendo are again lined up to the publish the title in the States, just as they are doing in Japan.

This is good news for Europe, as it seems with Nintendo handling the publishing and it confirmed for the US, a European release is - no pun intended - probably on the cards.

Set twenty years before the first title, the game features all new characters plus plenty of familiar faces from the original. The Japanese subtitle translates roughly to "Wings of the Beginning and the Heir to the Gods", though this will likely be changed for the English language release.
