Nintendo announce a partnership with Koei to publish the Wii-exclusive Samurai Warriors 3 in North America...

Continuing Nintendo's string of recent popular collaborations with Japanese studios, the company has recently confirmed it will be handling the North American and European publishing of Koei's Samurai Warriors 3.

Samurai Warriors 3 is the first mainline game to release on Wii, launched in Japan last year. It has also been learned that Nintendo Australia will be acting as publisher for the game in Australia and New Zealand. Nintendo of Europe has gone one better by announcing a release date of May 28th.

The Samurai Warriors series of hack and slash video games is a spin-off from Koei's similar (though ailing) Dynasty Warriors franchise. An interesting piece of trivia is that a less-than-popular side-title Samurai Warriors: Katana was one of the very first games to be publicly unveiled for Wii.

Samurai Warriors 3 is due for release in North America in Autumn 2010.
