News: Nintendo Responds To Wii Strap Lawsuit

"We believe the lawsuit to be completely without merit."

Ahh, the argument continues. The Wii remote strap: friend or foe?

Nintendo have responded to claims that the company have engaged in "unfair or deceptive practices" regarding the Wii strap. They have debunked this lawsuit as "completely without merit."

The lawsuit was filed in Austin, Texax on 6th December, and has claimed that the wrist strap is ineffective for its intended use and that Nintendo have breached the warranty of this device.

Nintendo have offered to replace the strap, after investigating claims that the Wii strap was prone to breaking.

However, the lawsuit, which was filed in Austin, Texas, seeks a refund or replacement strap, reimbursement of legal fees and "other and further relief as the Court deems just and proper."

"The controller is an essential component of any video game console, and so plaintiff is unable to use the Nintendo Wii for its intended purposes as a result of the broken wrist band. Accordingly, it renders the Wii console, which retails in the United States for $250, useless," details the lawsuit.

Has the World gone mad? Or, have Nintendo engaged in unfair practices?
