It's all about Mii...
Between all the localisations, Nintendo of Europe has managed to find the time to research the number of Mii characters created across the globe.
The worldwide total of Mii characters (created on Wii consoles) stands at 213.8 million - a number that would make a country of Miis the fifth most populated nation in the world. The number of Wii systems sold worldwide stands at 89.36 million.
Figures for Europe were more specific. The number of Miis created in the top six countries in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Italy) now exceeds 73.2 million - that's more than the population of France. The nation with the most Miis is easily the UK, with 22.1 million, compared to second-place France's 15.2 million.
Gender differences across the continent were heart-warming slim. The greatest disparity was Germany, with 55% male and 45% female Miis. The UK, Spain and the Netherlands all had more female Miis than male.
Nintendo of Europe's PR chief Laurent Fischer was inspired to comment:
"Our research shows that Europeans clearly enjoy playing with their Mii characters. With Mii Maker and StreetPass Mii Plaza features on Nintendo 3DS, more people will be able to enjoy the experience of creating and sharing their own Mii characters."
