News: Nintendo Reveals 'NintendoWare'

Text-to-voice functionality and new fur shaders? Sounds lovely.

At this year's GDC event, Nintendo's Takeshi Shimada spoke about the development of Brain Training. Now, Shimada has revealed "NintendoWare", a development application created by both HAL and Nintendo to emulate Wii hardware on a PC, "so that developers can sample parts of their games without having to load it to a Wii dev machine."

Shimada has also revealed that easy-to-incorporate fur shaders are also in the works, as well as the cryptic text-to-voice functionality.

The motion recognition could also see an upgrade, with a new predictive input tool that uses prior movement to predict your next motion. Sounds complex.

And your Wii might be able to read the new and weather headlines to you soon, with a text-to-speech tool also in the works.

Tell us more, Nintendo. It all sounds very fascinating, and as soon as we know more, we'll let you know.
