News: Nintendo Rewards Employees With Large Bonus

Nintendo of Japan has rewarded its employees with a very generous winter bonus.

In spite of posting their first net loss in seven years, as we reported about back in October, Nintendo of Japan has rewarded its employees with their highest ever winter bonus.

According to a report by 1UP their employees received a winter bonus equal to 1.45 million (about 11,000/€13,000), making it their highest ever winter bonus. This is more than their winter bonus last year and significantly larger than many other Japanese companies.

When combined with their summer bonuses Nintendo employees have received bonuses in excess of 3 million this year, around 38,000/€45,000. This figure alone is close to the average annual of a Japanese company employee, indicating that Nintendo are clearly proud of their employees and wish to reward them for all their hard work as no doubt it is a busy time at the company with the upcoming release of the 3DS.
