Nintendo succeeds in software stateside!
Where others fail, The Cube succeeds! The US software market has hit a year on year slump compared with this time last year. Gamecube software sales have increased by about 21 % compared to the same period a year ago. This success can be principally attributed to the recent releases of Pokemon Colosseum and Custom Robo.
However, it's not all wine and roses: The Game Boy Advance has hit a shocking slump, down as it is 23 % on last year. But put into context, Pokemon was still a fairly new title, as was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Whereas there are very few inspiring titles on the handheld at the moment. For some reason the prospect of another Sonic Advance sequel was not appealing tour brethren across the big pond.
Both PS2 and XBox have taken slumps too, PS2 had a drop of 19 % and the XBox 8 %. All in all, not bad news for Nintendo to see their main rivals slowing down!
