News: Nintendo Running Network Connection Tests

Help Nintendo with internet connection tests and get a cool little Animal Crossing-style desktop clock...

Nintendo of America has just put up a "survey" asking members of their "My Nintendo" community to help them in their ongoing internet connection tests. This is all likely in preparation of the launch of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the free service set to take flight later this year that will allow players to enjoy their favorite Nintendo games online for the first time ever. An important cause? You bet!

The actual process is fairly concise. The survey has "My Nintendo" members downloading a small application which when run will prompt them with several questions regarding their home internet connection. Then, the application will automatically begin running tests in conjunction with what we will assume are the Network's test servers. The whole process likely takes about 10 minutes or so, and the user will again be prompted before sending off the resulting data to Nintendo themselves.

In return, users will get exclusive pics of the new Nintendo Revolution controller! ...No, I kid. Actually, the cute little freebie that survey-goers will recieve is a simple clock in the style of Animal Crossing that can reside on their computer desktop. Not earth shattering but it IS a freebie afterall.

So how about it gamers? If you don't do it for the sake of seamless online Mario Kart... do it for the Animal Crossing clock. Again, the survey page can be found here.
